QRE Halloween Horror Movie Countdown – Day 17

Here’s our recommendation for Day 17:

When you combine two of the greatest names in horror – George Romero and Stephen King – you expect great things. And they definitely delivered in ‘Creepshow‘.

Based on horror comics that were popular from the 50s, and then experienced a resurgence in the 70s, ‘Creepshow’ was several stories put into one film. And just as they chose two of the big names to write and direct, they chose names just as big to be in the film itself: Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, E.G. Marshall, Ed Harris, Ted Danson… The list goes on and on.

If you’ve never seen this one because it looks dated, we’ll be honest with you: it is. The effects are very “80′s”. But that’s not a bad thing. The stories themselves make up for any shortcomings in special effects. Besides, it’s not every day you get to see Stephen King covered in green fur!

So that’s our recommendation for today. The best part? It’s available on Netflix streaming right here.
