12-12-12 – The Concert For Sandy Relief

Dave GrohlMany of you probably know about The Concert For Sandy Relief taking place this evening, Dec 12th. Lots of performers – Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, and many more – are donating their time to entertain people in hopes that the folks watching will donate toward the relief effort. It’s a good cause, and it’s accessible through a lot of different means. (Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee people – the concert will be available at Cinemark Tinseltown in Bristol, so if you’re free, head on over and check it out!) More details about how to watch and donate can be found at their website here.

Now, on to what you may not know.

There is going to be a reunion of sorts, with Pat Smear on guitar, Krist Novoselic on bass, and Dave Grohl on drums. We know, Smear was a member of Foo Fighters, not Nirvana, but still – Grohl and Novoselic on their respective instruments make it close enough for us. So the $64,000 question is: Who will sing?

Sir Paul McCartney.

That’s right – the face of The Beatles will be singing with Smear, Novoselic and Grohl. And while we don’t expect to hear Paul belt out the lyrics to ‘Rape Me’, we’re pretty sure it’s going to be interesting, to say the least.

Check it out if you can!
