Here at the Quiet Room we’re firm believers in equality. Except for Cadderly, and that’s his own fault. And I don’t mean that he doesn’t believe in equality – he loves it. We just don’t think he’s equal to us. Anyway.
We wanted to take a second to say happy holidays to everyone out there who reads QRE, either on the site, on Facebook, or on Twitter. We love you guys – we do this to entertain ourselves, but mostly we do it to entertain you. We’d not be here if it weren’t for you.
And know that when we say happy holidays, we’re not doing it to be dismissive or to exclude anyone – we’re saying it so we can include everyone. We don’t care if you’re Christian, Jewish, Atheist, Satanist, Buddhist, whatever; we don’t care if you’re white, black, red, yellow, green, orange – it doesn’t matter. We want everyone to have a good holiday season, no matter what you celebrate, if you celebrate anything at all. And if you don’t, then have a good group of days.
A special thanks goes out to those people who were working both yesterday, Christmas Eve, and today, on Christmas. Cashiers at a gas station, grocery store, police, firefighters, ambulance personnel – whoever you are, if you’re working through the holiday, we know it sucks, but believe us – we do appreciate you. We may not tell you in person, but we really do. You make our lives so much easier (and in the case of some of those guys, safer), and we thank you for it.
So happy holidays to all of you from all of us. We’ll be back on our regular posting schedule next week. Until then – take care of each other, call that person you’re thinking about, and be sure to tell someone you love them.
